Straight away you get a voiceover who introduces the episode, the voice is very deep which creates tension and may grip the audiences' attention as soon as they watch it. This episode then starts off with their own logo which is of a globe as a solar eclipse - this is a very unique way of opening the show as not many shows have their own logo. immediately after, it goes into the previous episode so that the audience can recap as to what happened in the previous episode. It doesnt encounter the actors names therefore the audience would have had to watch the first espisode in able to familiarise with the characters. to some extent this creates enigma as the audience don't know who the characters are or what sort of powers they may have therefore it creates mystery and makes them want to watch the programme in able to find out. There are many different types of shots taken to shows the characters relevance to the scene and what their position is within the show. There are constantly diegetic sound occuring in this episode for example when the police siren went off, this could connote that something negative is going to happen which results in a fire.
Institutional information : Created by Tim Kring. Produced by 'Dennis Hammer, Allan Arkush and Greg Beeman'
Genre: Drama and science fiction.
Audience: i think that this programme is targetted at a D to B audience as this could appeal to many different types of people. the age that i think would be interested in this type of programme are for people aged 16+ as it is very fantasy-like.
